Q - Tell us a little about your background growing up and your interest in music.
A - I was born in Germany and raised in the States from a young age, growing up on the East Coast. Gotta love that Atlantic Ocean!
My musical taste is truly varied and depends on how I connect to the feel of the song, whether that’s folk, pop, rock ‘n’ roll, you name it. Childhood CDs of mine include Fiona Apple, Karen Carpenter, and Nelly Furtado, but I also remember listening to (and continue to listen to) Alanis Morissette, Celine Dion, and Jewel. Since then, I’ve become a big fan of artists like Alison Krauss, Norah Jones, and SYML (the list goes on to include others like Aurora, Enya, Lady Gaga, Lana Del Rey, Shania Twain, the Broods—too many to name all in one sitting)!
Q - What have you been doing prior to your music career?
A - Prior to my music career, I have essentially been in all law/public relations-related jobs. I went through traditional education (majoring in public relations for undergrad), followed by law school, and then took the path of judicial clerkship/law practice to becoming a decision writer and supervisor of legal staff.
Q - Tell us a little about your family.
A - I'm mother to two; owner of many family pets (10+), including but not limited to dogs, fish, and a hamster; and am the youngest child of 4 siblings.
Q - Do you have any hobbies?
A - I love singing (of course), yoga, reading, learning foreign language(s), long baths, and good movies.
Q - What are some of your favorite foods?
A - My favorite foods are any form of potato, tacos, tomato basil bread with butter (and cheese), hamburger muffins, strawberries, bananas, etc. Yum yummity yum!
Q - Anything else you want to say to your fans about your music and overall outlook on life in general?
A - I believe we are all special beings who contain sparks of divine creativity that call to be expressed; we are also sources of inspiration that contain the power to serve as positive sources over negative ones throughout our lives. The legal field has catered to my analytical and linguistic interests, but the field of music has opened me to the creativity within and the absolute power of music as an avenue for positive expression in our world.
Q - What do you feel the style of music that you create would be?
A - I feel that my overall style is Cinematic/Emotional/Elegant when you hear a song of mine.
Q - Any last words?
A - It's time for more positive, heart-centered art in our world and that's my mission when I write songs: to spread Heart-Minded Integrity far and wide, through music, joy, and community.
