“Everyday Things That Inspire”—a Blog by Yours Truly, AnnaBelle Swift

Welcome to “Everyday Things That Inspire,” my newly launched blog series!  This blog aims to be positive; uplifting; and you guessed it, inspiring.  Why is this important and how does it relate to my music?

It should come as no shock that in this media-saturated world where news can often get sensationalized, it can be easy to start to believe that there is danger lurking around every corner.  That our world doesn’t hold kindness in high regard.  And that people are only looking out for Uno #1 (themselves).  My blog series is meant to remind about and celebrate the wonderful aspects of the world, people, and of life in general—everyday things that inspire (joy/creativity/well-being)!

This is to help balance negative with positive.  To inspire us not to take the small things for granted.  And—more in my next post—to help manage a phenomenon called hedonic adaptation.

This blog relates directly to my music in that I aim to craft authentic music inspired by life, in order to have a positive, uplifting effect.  So far, the original music from my album has been inspired by such everyday things as birds and even a children’s book read to my daughter at a young age called “I Love You Through and Through” (interestingly, this same song was also inspired by a Hawaiian Ho’oponopono prayer that focuses on self-healing).  Future blog posts will continue to celebrate such nice everyday things, while giving a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the sorts of things that may inspire the music creation process.  Come back tomorrow for the very first installment of “Everyday Things That Inspire”; so happy to have you here!
